Roger Waters, founder of Pink Floyd, chooses Soundreef to Manage its rights in Italy
Soundreef has gained the trust of Roger Waters too, founder of Pink Floyd. Starting July 1, 2024, Soundreef is thus representing his entire repertoire in Italy, from the main successes of Pink Floyd to his solo publications.
This is a significant milestone for the Collecting society founded by Davide d’Atri, who commented, “We are very proud of Roger Waters’ decision to directly entrust Soundreef with the collection of his copyrights in Italy, and grateful for the trust he places in us. Managing the rights of someone who has written some of the masterpieces of contemporary music is an honor and a great responsibility that we are pleased to take on.”
Therefore, Soundreef’s international consolidation continues and it started in 2020 with its entry into CISAC – the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, the world’s most important network of copyright societies, bringing together 232 members across 121 countries.
In 2023, there was the historic agreement with SESAC, marking the first time one of the world’s ten largest collecting societies withdrew its mandate from a European collective management organization to entrust the rights it represented to an independent management entity, confirming Soundreef’s position as a solid alternative for copyright collection in Italy – the sixth largest music market in the world based on global CISAC collection data.
This position is further strengthened today by the signing of the agreement with Roger Waters.
